Starting this year, SFS Group announces the conduction of the annual Financial Reportage Competition in an effort to acknowledge and reward the important role of journalists in the provision of accurate and timely information to the Cypriot society relating to the economic sector.
The competition is established by SFS for the celebration of its 20th Anniversary. A different subject-matter shall be chosen every year which will focus on topics relating to the economic activity and innovation in Cyprus. This year, the competition’s subject is “The impact of the financial crisis on the Cyprus economy”.
SFS Group has appointed an Examining Committee responsible for the evaluation of all entries based on the quality of the material submitted by each applicant (argumentation, adequate analysis and information on the subject-matter), on the originality of the subject and language expression (clarity). The Examining Committee consists of Dr. Spyros Hadjidakis (University of Nicosia), Dr. Nayia Roussou (University of Nicosia), Dr. Christos Christodoulou-Volos (European University Cyprus), Dr. Sotiris Theocharides (Frederick University).
Qualifying entrants shall be all journalists, members of the Union of Cyprus Journalists, whose study, research or reportage has been published or shall be published in the Cypriot press or that has been broadcasted or shall be broadcasted in the Cypriot media (television, radio, internet) and that is falling into the Competition’s subject-matter from 1 September,2008 until 31 December, 2008. |
